After 1949
The temple went through a series of reincarnations after 1949. Most of Beijing's more than 3,000 temples were converted for civilian use and eventually disappeared with the modernization of the city. Songzhusi became a television factory. When it was rediscovered in 2007, it was part of a complex of buildings of different eras and included a small hotel. |
